Tucked away in a corner of south Nanaimo is a five-acre plot of land with a long history of producing local food. Five Acre Farm is one of the last intact parcels of BC’s first planned agricultural community. The passionate and dedicated volunteers who work the farm have created an inclusive space where people with diverse abilities learn about horticulture and gain valuable farming experience.
In 2018, the Five Acres Farm Doc project, led by Paul Manly, was awarded a $50,000 grant through the Telus Storyhive project. The documentary is currently in production.
